GENERAL INFO and CORE ACTIVITIES
Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini was born in 2000 in Jesi (a small city in the Marche region) as a project-based organization: our mission was to promote through a Festival our two composers: Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736) and Gaspare Spontini (1774 – 1851) natives of this territory.
In 2005 we became a stable cultural organization for the management of the Pergolesi theater (an historic theater built in 1798), a traditional Opera theater since 1968, and of Moriconi Theater, a multipurpose theater space created inside a former church.
In 2009 we opened a scenography laboratory in which we create sets also on commission for other theaters and film productions and we became a training agency for professional training courses in the artistic and technical professions of the performing arts.

An inspirational, professional and calm residency.
Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini offers two residency spaces.
The Pergolesi theater is an historic theater built in 1798 but open and active continuously until today. The theater has perfect acoustics and hosts opera performances, classical concerts, drama and dance.

Moriconi Theater is a multipurpose theater space created inside a former church. It has been closed in recent years for works to upgrade the safety systems and for acoustic improvement. The space is suitable for hosting shows of all kinds and artistic and creative residencies.

Given that every artist will be welcome, our ideal artist will have to be available for discussion to define together times and possible points of contact with our artistic programming. In this way we might consider including the outcome of the creative project in our annual Festival.
