PotatoPotato
GENERAL INFO and CORE ACTIVITIES
PotatoPotato has been creating original pieces in the Contemporary Field since 2008. Since then over 300 premieres were realized, from small to huge. We made big conceptual work – like the kinda cheaper, not as good Wedding (2010) where 20 strangers got married and divorced and threw a big official wedding on the same day as the wedding of the crown princess of Sweden. Or the monologue for telephone (2022) when we hired 349 actors to perform a piece about doubt for the new members of the Swedish parliament. We also make site specific pieces – for churches, boats and ice rinks. But mostly we make shows for the stage. Among the most recent ones are FIGHT (2022), a four-hour-long quarrel between four actors that embody all phases of the quarrel, qualities and actions. It’s catharsis without peripeteia that revolves around the very core of the drama – the conflict. Another one is BAYWATCH (2022) that takes place in two lifeguard chairs with the audience placed around in sun loungers. BAYWATCH is a deeply personal and unfiltered conversation where the audience gets a chance to eavesdrop that examines the poetic potential of everyday conversation and what it means to get to know each other in depth.
MY PREFERRED ARTISTIC RESEARCH WOULD BE…
I would like to make a very down-scaled original musical about something big and sad. Or maybe about world economics or something unsigned.
I’M LOOKING FOR…
- Artists with musical knowledge;
- Actors who can sing;
- A space that is beautiful, has room for movements and adequate technical equipment.
FOR MY ORGANIZATION, WORKING INTERNATIONALLY MEANS…
Jumping in the opportunity to distribute my work on a larger scale.
